why do we celebrite it?

halloween

We celebrate Halloween in Italy because it became popular thanks to American culture, movies, and social media. The holiday comes from an ancient Celtic festival called *Samhain*, which later became the modern Halloween in the United States. In Italy, people began celebrating Halloween in the 1990s. At first, it was something new and foreign, but today it’s quite common, especially among young people and children. Many Italians enjoy dressing up in scary costumes, going to themed parties, and saying *“dolcetto o scherzetto”* for candy. Shops, restaurants, and schools often decorate with pumpkins, ghosts, and spiders. Even though Halloween is not a traditional Italian holiday, it takes place close to *Ognissanti* (All Saints’ Day) and *Il Giorno dei Morti* (All Souls’ Day), which are part of Italian culture and also remember the dead. Because of this, Halloween fits naturally with this time of year. Today, Halloween in Italy is a mix of American traditions and Italian creativity — a fun celebration that lets people express themselves and enjoy something different.

We also dressed up as something, especially for an event that is very common in Italy...

scary event!!!

we dressed up as.....

POLITICIANS!!!!

we've prepered something....

we have a little scenario that we've prepared yesterday in class with a bit ironic in it.And if you have a question about the decision of this costume, there wasn’t a reasonable reason it was simply fun and very in theme with "a mix of American traditions and Italian creativity"

thank you all for thespooky attention

“Every person who comes to Italy brings with them dreams, experiences, and hopes; seeing them only as ‘foreigners’ is to overlook the wealth of stories and cultures that could enrich all of us.”
