Project output
A biodigester concept designed for small agro-industrial use.
- Modular design enabling easy scaling and transport.
- Dual-output process (biogas + biofuel) using bagasse as main feedstock.
- Simulation-based design in Aspen Plus for efficiency validation.
ObjeCtivEs
General
SCOPE
Development of the process simulation in Aspen Plus, including:
- Reaction and separation modeling,
- Simulation and economical evaluation
- Energy integration,
- Product yield and performance analysis,
- Design recommendations for pilot implementation.
To design a modular micro biodigester prototype that transforms Atencingo community organic waste from sugarcane bagasse into usable biogas and biofuel, reducing fossil fuel dependence and waste pollution.
Business proposal
MODEL
B2B/B2C hybrid model — providing bioenergy generation units and technical assistance to local producers and small-scale industries.
Comercialization
- Direct sales to communal lands and small producers.
- Alliances with sugar mills (e.g., Atencingo Sugar Mill).
- Participation in government renewable energy programs.
- Digital platform for monitoring and support.

PROJECT BUDGET
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE RATE OF RETURN (MARR) - inflation (September 2025 - INPC): 141.197 anual index = 5.37% - Risk premium: 10% for tech projects MARR = 5.37% + 10% = 15.37%
NET PRESENT VALUE (NPV)
NPV= $163,388 MXN
PROJECT BUDGET
INTERNAL RATE OF RETURN (IRR) According the formula: And using Excel's IRR function, IRR for this series of cash flows is approximately 31% If IRR> MARR, means that the project is highly profitable and expected return greatly exceeds the opportunity cost of capital. Conclusion: MARR: 15% NPV: $163,388 IRR: 31%

Mission, vision & SWOT
SWOT
To transform agro-industrial waste into accessible and clean energy for rural communities through modular and sustainable technology.
- Strengths: Integrated technology, low OPEX, multidisciplinary team.
- Opportunities: Renewable energy policies, high LP Gas costs, 2G biodiesel demand.
- Weaknesses: Initial funding dependency, residue logistics.
- Threats: Competition from non-integrated systems, regulatory changes.
MISSION
To be the reference in Mexico for integrated modular biodiesel and biogas systems by 2030, contributing to energy independence and the circular economy.
