Let start with simple things, but it has great impact to your daily conversation.By the end of this session, you will be so confident to greet someone and also introduce your self.

5 Useful pronouns

SAYA (formal) SAYA love orange juice.= I/meAKU (informal) AKU have a dog.

ANDA (formal) ANDA are my teacher.= YouKAMU (informal) KAMU have beautiful eyes.

BELIAU (formal) BELIAU is my father. = She/He DIA (informal) DIA is my little sister.

MEREKA (formal/informal) = They MEREKA look so cool.

KAMI (formal/informal) = We KAMI love to be here.

You can use all of these pronouns in any situation.

Pronouns = kata ganti

SAYA or AKU ?

The word 'Saya' and 'Aku' is a first-person pronoun. 'Saya' is formal and polite, indicating respect for the listener. 'Aku' is used in informal situations and only with people one is very familiar with.

Example:

Saya kurang faham, boleh diulang ?

Aku tidak mengerti, bisa diulang ?

I didn't understand. Could you repeat that, please ?

The word 'Anda' and aku is a second-person pronoun. 'Anda' functions as a formal, neutral way to say 'you'. 'Kamu' is used in informal situations and only with people one is very familiar with.

Example:

Kamu ngomong terlalu cepat, bisa pelan-pelan ?

You're speaking too quickly, could you speak more slowly please?

Anda bicara terlalu cepat, bisa lebih lambat ?

'Mereka' is a neutral third-person plural pronoun. 'Kami' is an exclusive first-person plural pronoun.

They will leave tomorrow.

Example :

Beliau adalah ayah saya.

"Tidak" is used to negate verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Its function is similar to "not" in English. "Bukan" is used to negate nouns, noun phrases, and pronouns. Its function is similar to "is not / are not" in English.
We will learn how to start a good conversation with 'Apa kabar?' and some possible ways to answer and react in the different sections.
'-mu' is a clitic (a short form that cannot stand alone) of 'Kamu' and is always attached to another word. '-mu' is a possessive form (indicating ownership).
Example;
Apa ini kopermu ?
Is this your bag?
If you are hoping to meet on a day within the same week, you can say :
Sampai jumpa dua (2) hari lagi. See you in two days.
Word 'LAGI' means Upcoming.
In casual situation, usually we just say : PAGI !SIANG !SORE !MALAM !
