When we try to communicate there are times when different external factors can interfere on the way we communicate with the receiver of the message.

Here are the most common ways the communication can be stopped by those factors (The environment, the knowledge difference of the people...)

CODE RELATED BARRIERS

The most common way the sender and the receiver can´t uderstand each other is by not sharing the same code.FOR EXAMPLE:An expert physicst trying to explain astrophysichs to a politician.A chinese tryng to speak chinese to a Nigerian that doesn´t speak it.

FEEDBACK RELATED BARRIERS

The lack of feedback can be shown as a lack of further context on a message or the lack of knowledge of the situation.FOR EXAMPLE:Everyone in the office is laughing when you arrive to work but you don´t get anything because you arrived after the funny thing happened.

BARRIERS RELATED TO THE MESSAGE OR THE CHANNEL

The most common interference on the channel or the message is the noise, which if it´s too high or too loud can make the message incomprehensible.FOR EXAMPLE:When you try to teach some kids and they don´t stop shouting and making noises they don´t pay attention to the lesson.

BARRIERS RELATED WITH THE SENDER AND THE RECEIVER

The communication between the sender and the receiver can be affected by lots of different ways, such as:

FEATURES OF A MESSAGE

A message needs to have some certain feartures:

  • Clarity (To be understandable)
  • Accuracy (To be precise)
  • Objectivity (To be ebjective)

  • Interest (Make it interesting)
