What is a circuit ?
A circuit is a complete path around which electricity can flow. It must include a source of electricity, such as a battery. Materials that allow electric current to pass through them easily, called conductors, can be used to link the positive and negative ends of a battery, creating a circuit.
What is a series circuit?
A series circuit comprises a path along which the whole current flows through each component. In a series circuit all components are connected end-to-end,forming a single path for current flow.
What is a parallel circuit?
A pararellel circuit comprises branches so that the current divides and only part of it flows throught any branch.In a pararrel circuit,all components are connected across each other,forming exactly two sets of electrically common points.
What are the main characteristics of a series circuit?
Three rules of series circuit follow:all components share the same current;resistances add to equal a larger,total resistance;and voltage drops add to equal a larger,total votalge.
What are the main characteristics of a pararellel circuit?
-Voltage is the same across each component of the pararellel circuit.
-The sum of the currents through each path is equal to the total current that flows from the source.
