Purpose of the Practicum: The post-practicum report summarizes observations, experiences, and reflections gained during teaching practice at Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary school settings. Scope: Focus on teaching methods, student engagement, classroom management strategies, and professional development outcomes.

One week Practicum Overview

What was supposed to be a one week observation became a rollercoaster of different events all stirred into one big storm. With enthusiasm and eagerness to learn we all started day one hopeful, which was followed by a small break midway then a longer category 5 break followed. Naggo Head primary is situated in the parish of st Catherine, it has a population of 850 student and is known for achivement in sports, they also has a wall of famous runners.

Wolmer's Preparatory school

overview

Wolmers Preparatory is located in a residential area on Connelley Road in Kingston 5. The school population is approximately 450 students from Kindergarten to Grades 6. Teachers in lower grades teach a mixture of subjects across the board while in higher grades such as grade 6, the teachers specialize in either Math and Social Studies or Language Arts and Science. The school environment was very welcoming and staff was respectful and helpful.

Kingston High School, formerly known as Senior School, is a developing secondary institution located at 172 King Street, Kingston, Jamaica. MonaHigh School is a government-owned secondary high school in Saint Andrew Parish, Kingston, Jamaica, established in 1979.​ The school opened its doors to 600 students as a fully government-owned institution and has grown significantly since. It introduced a sixth form programme in 2014 and continues to improve academic performance, aiming to match traditional high schools.​

Engagement dropped slightly during lecture-heavy moments or tech delays, but teachers redirected students and restored focus effectively.
