Growth & Progress
Benchmarks are administered three times per school year. We are seeing a significant number of learners performing below or well below benchmark levels. These learners participate in small group instruction and receive support from interventionists, yet many still do not meet benchmark expectations immediately. This raises important questions: How much growth should we expect to see? How quickly should that growth occur? This guide is designed to help you set meaningful goals for your learners and communicate those goals effectively.

Reading Benchmark Goals
Reading
- Amplify has a system in place to see goals for each reader.
- The 'Progres' tab in mClass will show you progress monitoring scores and is the place to set goals.
- Each reader in your class will have a goal set for every domain tested in the benchmark.
- Goals should be attainable to the individual. The 'Average Growth Rate' is the most attainable goal.
- Teachers take time to set attainable goals for each individual learner.
- Teachers & interventionists take time to share these goals with individual learners.
- Goal end dates will show as MOY or EOY depending on the time of year.
Math Benchmark Goals
Math
- Progress monitoring looks very similar to benchmarking. You can view the individual slides for each item and see their response.
- Each progress monitoring Form has the same number of questions.
- Testerson completed 6 correct this time, so you can view how they did next time and compare.
The progress monitoring score report shows the domain tested and the last 3 scores for the domain. Multiple domains will show. The 'Updated Compsite' score will adjust to reflect what the new benchmark score would be based on how the domain progress monitoring has changed.
