The first time you try this practice pick a high interest, non-content discussion question to practice!
For students that do not want to talk on a mic, offer to act as their "voice" in the discussion.
For younger grades, consider making a board with pictures in Padlet Sandbox and allowing the students to hover their mouse over a picture to indicate that they are noticing things like taking turns, explaining why, or asking a question.
Pick your "go to" active students to start, but offer to switch up the groups after each question.
Consider snipping and embedding in Edio a video of the student discussion. This way async students can also complete the activity!
