UNDERWATER MANSIONS - ENTRANCE HALL - DAY (UNDERWATER) The WARP CUBE—a shiny, see-through pod buzzing with cool blue light—zooms through a rusty gate into the soggy old buildings of UNDERWATER MANSIONS. Crusty walls covered in colorful coral tower like sleeping giants. Bright glowing fish zip away as the cube squeezes through the tight doorway. Inside the cube, RONNIE RESIST (14, brave kid with big curious eyes) smooshes his nose against the window, smiling big. NUMBERELLA (13, super-smart with numbers but scared of tight spots) squeezes her chair, eyes jumping around. ROBERT (12, grumpy mutant Valatogan kid with behind the ear fish gills), MICHAELA (his sister, also mutant, 11, eyes full of hope), IAN and LIAM (mutant Valatogan twins, 10, squirmy and chattering), and COLLUM (13, super nice but kinda mysterious new kid) crowd around a glowing map. The cube SHAKES and stops, stuck hard in the narrow entrance way.

RONNIE (grinning, but a bit nervous) Yay! We're in! NUMBERELLA (looking out, voice wobbly) Yay... but we're not moving anymore. This box is too big for the hall! MICHAELA (eyes sparkling, pointing at the map) That's where the puppies are! Robert and I know the way—they're in our old room. We have to swim. They're still okay—I feel it! ROBERT (mumbling, arms folded, but softer now) Yeah... our puppies. We can probably swim in... but the puppies can't swim out! COLLUM (cool and sure, stepping up) Don't worry. There's a mini-submarine at the end of Corridor B, next building over. I'll show ya. We can use it to carry the puppies to safety. RONNIE (eyebrow up) A mini sub? In this dump? How do we access it? COLLUM (nods, quick grin) Look for the rubber ring symbol on the door. Then code to open it: 9,3,19,14. Piece of cake. MICHAELA (worried, looking at the dark water) It's a long swim, though. Really long. And the buildings shake sometimes...

ROBERT (snorting) No one has used that sub in years. It's like 150 years old. It will be a miracle if you can get the door open, let alone start it. COLLUM (clapping hands, excited) I'll fill your air tanks. Underwater kids like us don't need 'em, but you land kids... IAN (bouncing, to Liam) Puppies! Puppies! LIAM (giggling) I love puppies! I hope they're ok! WARP CUBE - MOMENTS LATER Collum plays with air tanks on the wall, tubes GOOSHING as he fills them. Ronnie and Numberella lean over a screen, whispering the code: 9-3-19-14. Robert and Michaela point at the map, showing the puppy room path. COLLUM (offering nicely) I'll swim with you two to the start of Hall B. Show the way. Michaela, Robert—you watch the cube with the twins. Can't leave it alone—it zips home by itself. Whoosh! ROBERT (shaking his head) What? I never heard about that before.

MICHAELA (quietly, to Ronnie while he puts on his wetsuit) Collum's... new. We met him a few weeks ago, right before the big evac. He moved here by himself. No family. Funny, huh? The place was emptying fast 'cause it's unstable. But he moved in! Ronnie leans closer, talking softly—Robert sees and frowns, moving nearer. RONNIE (whispering, curious) By himself? Who does that in a shaky old place? MICHAELA (shrugs, eyes on Collum) Yeah. But he's fun. Fixed our water cleaners when they got all muddy. Very smart kid. We made him our friend—before we had to leave everything. Robert doesn't like him much. (Robert puffs, mad, folding arms super tight.) ROBERT (crossly) Stop flirting Michaela. Let's go to get our puppies and get out of here. COLLUM (happy, like nothing's wrong) Air tanks full! Let's go! Ronnie and Numberella and Collum snap on masks, and enter the airlock. It fills up and then the cube door WHOOSHES open.

WITH OXYGEN RUNNING OUT, SHOULD NUMBERELLA AND RONNIE GO BACK OR CARRY ON?

UNDERWATER MANSIONS - RIGHT NOW

The three—Collum in front, Ronnie and Numberella kicking after—swim away from the cube. Faint lights blink like sleepy fireflies on the walls. Collum points to a split path. COLLUM (bubbles puffing) Bear right. It looks dodgy — but the mini sub is waiting. Look for the old statue. From there it's about 4 minutes more. You'll spot it! See you back at the cube! He turns back, waving bye, then swims into the murky depths. NUMBERELLA (muffled voice, nervous) I hate this. Dark tunnels? Yuck. Feels like... stuck in a tiny box. And everything's shaking! RONNIE (nervous laugh, kicking fast) It's ok Numbers. Picture the puppies. Superhero time! She clicks her OXY-TORCH—a bright white light ZAPS the dark, showing rusty tubes and floaty bits. They swim on. The walls GET CLOSER, squeezing like a big hug gone wrong. A low RUMBLE shakes the water—instability alert! Suddenly—a BUMP! Something floats in the light: a still BODY, puffy and quiet, eyes like foggy glass. It taps Numberella's shoulder. NUMBERELLA (yelling muffled, kicking away) Eek! What is that?! Ronnie!

The hall hugs tighter, like a tiny blanket. Numberella breathes quick, bubbles popping wild. Another SHAKE ripples through. NUMBERELLA (puffing, voice high) How much more? This is bad—the walls are closing in! And it's wobbling again! Ronnie, I can't see the statue anywhere. RONNIE(grabbing her arm, fast) I think I can see it! Just there in the distance! BEEP-BEEP-BEEP! BEEP-BEEP-BEEP! Air alarms YELL together, red lights blinking on tanks. Numbers drop: 3 minutes of oxygen left! NUMBERELLA(stopping cold, scared) The air! Collum said he filled the tanks! We aren't going to make it! RONNIE (eyes big, checking numbers) We need to figure out if we can make it back! Or take a chance on getting into the mini sub!

NUMBERELLA Ok Ronnie I'm going to check the gauge on your tank. You check mine! You get 20 minutes when they are full. RONNIE Yours says 4 minutes left! NUMBERELLA So does yours. RONNIE So how many minutes have we been swimming for? NUMBERELLA Well - if our tanks were actually full, then...

18

16

Numberella: There's no way we've been swimming 16 minutes. More like 5. Ronnie: I think it's more like 9. Numberella: Ok let's say it's in the middle of 5 and 9. Ronnie: What would that be? Numberella:

Ronnie: So if that's right, how many minutes should we have left then? If our tanks had been full? Numberella: We should have...

12

13

14

Ronnie: So either Collum is an idiot and didn't fill up the tanks right, or he's a psycho who is trying to kill us, or he's... Meltz! Numberella: It doesn't matter now. If we've been swimming 7 minutes and we've only got 4 minutes left, we can't go back anyway. And Collum said 6 minutes from the statue to the mini sub. We're dead meat! Ronnie: BY SATURN! I just remembered I have a STAR Oxygen booster in my front pack. That gives an extra 6 minutes. Numberella: Ronnie! You're a genius. So that would be...

3 minutes each

1 minute each

2 minutes each

Ronnie: Yes! But we've been talking for about 1 minute. Numberella: Ok so which direction do we have enough air for? Ronnie: We should...

MISSION 2 - Mini Sub

Dark water CLOUDS around RONNIE and NUMBERELLA. Their torches CUT shaky beams—BEEP-BEEP-BEEP! Alarms WAIL constantly now, gauges at zero. Bubbles trail faint, desperate. NUMBERELLA (muffled, dark whisper)If Collum goofed the tanks... was he wrong about the mini-sub too? Or... maybe he's a traitor. RONNIE (kicking harder, mind whirling) Traitor? Michaela said he moved in—when everyone's evacuating this rattletrap dump. Cracks everywhere, shakes like jelly. Who does that? Unless... NUMBERELLA(eyes narrowing) Unless he's a Meltz in disguise. Goo under the skin, waiting to melt us. The sub could be booby-trapped—zap us on touch. RONNIE (glancing back, tense) Doesn't add up. Nice guy fixing pumps? Nah. We hope for the best—puppies need us. No choice. Alarms SHRIEK louder—O2 gone. Ronnie yanks his pack, STAR BOOSTER gleaming. CLICK! Fresh air WHOOSHES into both tanks. 3 minutes bought, gauges tick up. RONNIE(relieved gasp) Booster hit! Breathe slow, Nel. Stop panting!

Ahead, the gloom parts—a RUBBER RING symbol GLOWS faintly on a sealed door. Through the grimy window: a MINI-SUB. RONNIE(relieved gasp) Booster hit! Breathe slow, Nel. Don't huff it out. NUMBERELLA (sighing bubbles) There! Relief... As long as his code works, we're breathing easy. RONNIE (fingers hovering keypad) Slow breaths. 9-3-19-14. Come on... BEEP-BEEP-BEEP. Red denial! Door stays shut. Seconds burn—alarms spike. RONNIE(pounding panel) No! We're done! NUMBERELLA(frantic, eyes flashing) Valatoga code! What if Collum gave us the code post encryption! Reverse the encryption!

NUMBERELLA (concentrating) Ok for even numbers you have to times by 5 and subtract 11. For odd you have to times by 4 and subtract 9. Collum's first number was 9. We need to reverse the equation. I'm guessing it must be a single digit integer answer, so let's try the even formula first!

? x 5 - 11 = 9

RONNIEYes! Now for the next one! Collum's second number was 3, so even numbers you have to times by 5 and subtract 11. For odd you have to times by 4 and subtract 9. Let's try the odd formula first. So if we reverse that for 3...

? x 4 - 9 = 3

12

NUMBERELLA My oxygen is running out, I'm feeling faint. Quick Ronnie! Even numbers you have to times by 5 and subtract 11. For odd you have to times by 4 and subtract 9. Try the even formula, I have a good feeling about it.

? x 5 - 11 = 19

40

RONNIE My oxygen is running out! I can hardly breathe! For even numbers you have to times by 5 and subtract 11. For odd you have to times by 4 and subtract 9. Last number is 14. Which formula Numbers? NUMBERELLA I don't know! Try both!!

so 14 may equal..."

MINI-SUBMERSIBLE - MOMENTS LATER Dim green lights HUM on the console as RONNIE and NUMBERELLA slump in the bubble-shaped seats, masks off, gulping recycled air. Numberella pressing buttons. RONNIE (fiddling radio knob, urgent) Miss A Go? Come in—it's us! We're in a Mini Sub somewhere in Underwater Mansions. We can't get out of the sub hangar. Hello? Static CRACKLES like popcorn in a storm—harsh bursts, then nothing. Numberella leans over, twisting the dial herself. More fuzz. NUMBERELLA (frowning, tapping mic) Nada. Walls too thick? Or... Meltz jamming? Great—stranded with a tin can radio. RONNIE (glancing at gauges) Red button. RED BUTTON! Emergency exit. Punch it Nel! She SLAMS the red button. KA-CHUNK! The mini sub SHUDDERS violently—propellers WHIR to life. Bolts SHEAR; the sub BREAKS free from its dock, rocketing backward through a hidden chute. Bubbles ROAR like thunder as it BLASTS out of the building into OPEN WATER. For a second they are surrounded by bubbles, and then their breaths are completely taken away.

NUMBERELLA (gripping dash, peering out) Whoa—look at this!! Valatoga is AMAZING! And we thought it was a dead city! But how on earth are we going to get back to the cube? RONNIE (snatching a crumpled MAP from the glovebox—faded grid of tunnels etched in glow-ink) Hang on—map! Traced it: warped in at Gate Alpha... jammed Hall B... dark swim to the statue fork... ring door bay. We're spat out Sector C, dead east. He sketches a quick map on the console screen. NUMBERELLA That's great Ronnie, but we have one problem. The joysticks don't work. RONNIE So... what do we do? NUMBERELLA We may be able to control it through code. Some of these old subs still use simple line code. RONNIE Ok then. NUMBERELLA We need to use simple language to describe the turns we need to make.

NUMBERELLA (LOOKING AT THE MAP) We are facing east right now, and we need to head south to clear the tip of the Leviathan wing. So type in:

Quarter Turn Anti-Clock Wise

Quarter Turn Clock Wise

Half Turn Clockwise

RONNIEOK great. Now we need to head due east until we see the end of the Leviathan wing on our left. That means entering the command:

Quarter Turn Clockwise

Quarter Turn Anticlockwise

Half Turn Clockwise

NUMBERELLA OK! That looks like the end of Leviathan. So now we need to head due north. So type in:

Half Turn Anti-Clockwise

Quarter Turn Anti-Clockwise

Quarter Turn Clockwise

RONNIE Alright! There's...a Wobbly Tums Below. How do we not know this place even exists!! So now we just need to head due West and we should get back to the shipwreck... and from there we should be able to find our way to the Warp Cube. So we should enter:

Quarter Turn Clockwise

Half Turn Clockwise

Quarter Turn Anti-Clockwise

NUMBERELLA (suddenly scared) What's happening to the ship?! It feels like we're getting sucked into a whirlpool! RONNIE I thought it was too good to be true. They're trying to kill us! NUMBERELLA They were keeping this place secret for a reason! Now they are stopping us talking! RONNIE AND NUMBERELLA scream as the sub is sucked into a vortex whirlpool. WOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHH What are we going to do!!???

DEAD WATER The mini-sub HUMS faintly, props WHINING on low battery. RONNIE and NUMBERELLA peer through the porthole, gasping — empty shadows where the Warp Cube should be. Just junk and swirling silt. The battery alarm buzzes weakly, lights DIMMING yellow to red. RONNIE (slapping console, voice cracking) What just happened? NUMBERELLA (scanning void, eyes hardening) That whirlpool must be some kind of security measure. They flushed us out. RONNIE (punching armrest) Seems like it drained the battery too. We don't have much time left. NUMBERELLA I know. But one things been troubling me. Why didn't Robert and Michaela tell us? About Valatoga I mean.

RONNIE (glowering) Quite. And now we're stranded—sub's power at 8%. No recharge. Oxygen? Tanks bone-dry soon. We're in a right pickle, by Jupiter. Numberella twists the radio knob desperately—CRACKLE-CRACKLE. Static HOWLS back, mockingly. NUMBERELLA (banging mic) Miss A! Emergency! Respond! More fuzz. Ronnie ducks low, spotting a TINY LOGO etched under the dash: "ICT MILITARY ISSUE" in faded stencil. Eyes widen—memory hits. RONNIE (snapping up) This is an ICT Military sub. No wonder the eject... There must be a hidden SOS—STAR emergency protocol! Press here... He jams a concealed button under the dash. CLICK. A side screen FLICKERS on. "ENTER CODE TO ACTIVATE SAT-LINK RESCUE." Digits pulse.

NUMBERELLA: I have it! These are magic squares! You have to add each row, column and diagonal to make 15. We just have to press the right numbers to complete each square and it will activate the SOS signal.

NEAR UNDERWATER MANSIONS RIGHT NOWThe mini-sub DRIFTS limp, lights fading to black. Inside, RONNIE and NUMBERELLA huddle close, breaths shallow—sat-link's green glow their only spark. MISS A GO (filtered, booming over comms)Agents Resist and Numberella—this is Miss A Go. Evac sub inbound. Hold pattern... now. A massive STAR Ultra Radical Sub thunders into view—sleek silver beast, floodlights blazing like suns. Thrusters ROAR, docking clamps CLANG onto the mini-sub. Airlock HISSES open—fresh oxygen floods in. INT. STAR SUB - BRIDGE - MOMENTS LATER MISS A GO (clapping their backs) You two—tough as barnacles! Cube warped back to base without you. Found Ian and Liam inside, scared but safe. Munching emergency biscuits.

RONNIE (coughing laugh)The cube? Ditched us for the twins? MISS A GO (shaking head, wry) No one really understands Warp Cubes. AI's so advanced—quantum wizardry, breaking water's atomic bonds to phase through. Wild stuff! Makes 'em unpredictable—a law unto themselves. Good thing it grabbed the lads. NUMBERELLA (straightening, urgent) Did you know? About Valatoga? MISS A GO What about it? NUMBERELLA Er... that it's a massive mega city which no one knows about? MISS AGO Come again? NUMBERELLA So you don't know either! MISS AGO (Impatient) Nonsense. If there was a mega city I'd know about it. You must have been hallucinating from oxygen deprivation. Look - let's focus on your friends. I tracked 'em— they swam to Apartment 7B. Pups yipping mad. Grab a fresh mini-sub—there's one at the back. Fetch your crew. I'll hold the fort.

The ULTRA RADICAL mini-sub ZIPS through twists, Ronnie at helm, Numberella on map. They find ROBERT and MICHAELA mid-swim—puppies tucked safe in a hydro-seal carrier: a glowing blue bubble-pod, fins for glide, oxygen bubblers humming soft, transparent walls revealing tails wagging free. RONNIE(waving frantically) Over here! Pups look happy in that bubble taxi! They scoop them into the airlock — wet hugs, yips muffled but joyful. The Sub SEALS, jets back smoothly to the mothership. ICT ULTRA RADICAL SUB - BRIDGE - LATER All pile in: twins chattering, puppies tumbling paws in the carrier, Michaela and Robert beaming. Miss A Go pilots steadily, surface lights glinting ahead. MICHAELA (cuddling the pod) Collum... he seemed so nice. Fixed everything. NUMBERELLA(dark nod) So when were you going to tell us... about the real Valatoga... Michaela?

MICHAELA (shocked) How did you..? The escape sub? I'm sorry, but we were sworn to secrecy. We can't reveal it to non-mutants. RONNIE (jokily) Not even to me? MISS A GO (Double taking) WHAT??That's actually true? There's a hidden underwater city? Robert The Bruce! RONNIE For real Agatha. We saw it when we were ejected out of the emergency hangar. There's even a Wobbly Tums down there. MISS A GO (Cross but not cross) I'm going to talk to Agent Schmidt about this. I hate being kept in the dark, and someone must know about this at HQ. And don't think I didn't notice that, Ronald Resist. Yer dinnae call me Agatha, yer wee underwater hero, yer cheeky wee brat. Hey, smile everyone! We won't forget THIS adventure in a while. Puppies YAP approval through the seal. Sub breaks surface—dawn sun sparkles. All laugh, safe at last. NUMBERELLA WILL ADVENTURE AGAIN.

RONNIE and NUMBERELLA peer through the porthole—empty shadows where the Warp Cube should be. Just junk and swirling silt. The battery alarm buzzes weakly, lights DIMMING yellow to red. RONNIE (slapping console, voice cracking) No... the cube! It's gone—zipped home without us? Or... NUMBERELLA (scanning void, eyes hardening) Collum. Definitely a traitor. Underfilled O2 tanks.. and the code... a true Valatogan would never have given it in that format to a stranger. RONNIE (punching armrest) But Michaela trusted him. And she... NUMBERELLA (gives Ronnie a knowing look) I wonder if Rachelle would get on with Michaela.

RONNIE (slapping console, voice cracking) I trusted her! But I guess it must be a mutant secret. They don't want land people knowing about the real Valatoga. NUMBERELLA (scanning void, eyes hardening) Yeah. What about Collum. Definitely a traitor. Underfilled O2 tanks.. and the code... a true Valatogan would never have given it in that format to a stranger. RONNIE (punching armrest) But Michaela trusted him. And she...
