CREATIVE FUNDRAISING

  • Find a side-hustle: sell your art, crafts, baked goods; apply for seasonal jobs, etc.
  • Sell your old school books
  • Create an online funding campaign (e.g. GoFundMe)
  • Ask family members to donate frequent flyer miles
  • Request financial gifts or loans as birthday/holiday gifts
  • Offer postcards/photos/souvenirs for a donation

  • Attend a Planning Meeting with your Education Abroad Advisor to discern a good fit program and plan-out next steps
  • Connect with others in your support network, e.g. your Academic Advisor, personal supporters, and others important to your planning process
  • Apply for or renew your passport well in advance of going abroad; passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your planned return

Application steps vary by program type:

  • SU-Sponsored & Exchange: apply through the application in Module 2 by February 1 of the prior academic year; there is one hard deadline for Fall, Winter, and Spring programs
  • Faculty-Led: apply through Faculty Leader(s) by their deadline
  • Non-SU: apply through the Host University/Program Provider by their individual deadline and complete SU's general Non-SU application by the

term-specific deadline

Now you go abroad and it makes all the steps you've taken worth it!On Canvas, there are additional resources:

  • Blog for Redhawks Abroad
  • Sign-up for an Instagram Takeover
  • Connect with EA or Academic Advisor
