1. enquire

Enquire about a place in our Prep School via the online form on our website. This will also allow you to book onto one of our weekly Friday Open Mornings (term-time only).

5. reference requested

At this stage of the Admissisons process, we request a reference from the applicants current school.

2. handbooks

Once logged in to the parent portal, here you will be able to find the parent handbooks (from Easter). The admissions team will be in touch when these are available to view. These handbooks will tell you everything you need to know before starting here.

4. taster day

Once registered we would arrange a taster day for your daughter, which is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for what life is like at Burgess Hill Girls. The day will include a CAT4 test and unaided writing for Year 3 and above. For Years 1 and 2, less formal assessments will take place. Nursery/pre-school age girls moving into reception will not be assessed or able to join us for a taster day, we will however request a report or tracking sheet from their current nursery, if applicable.

1. online portal

Once you have accepted your place we will set you up with a parent portal account, our admissions team will notify you when key information for your daughter’s entry point has been uploaded. You will later be able to use your portal account to view invoices.

6. PLACE OUTCOME

Place outcomes will be communicated within two weeks of a Taster Day.

8. first day of term

Students should arrive to the Prep School in their uniform, and bring their PE kit. Once term has started you will begin to receive a weekly newsletter (Bmail) every Friday, which will contain all key school communication moving forwards.

3. register

If, following your visit, you wish to register an application you will need to complete a Registration Form. You will also be required to arrange payment of the £180 registration fee (inclusive of VAT).

2. book a visit

Join us every Friday morning to discover life at Burgess Hill Girls. Meet our Assistant Head - Prep, enjoy a tour of our campus, and visit our Information Hub to speak with key staff. To arrange an individual appointment, please complete our Enquiry Form.

7. new girls tea

Girls joining the Prep School, and their parents, will be invited to our New Girls’ Tea event, which takes place just before the start of term. It’s a great opportunity for the girls to re-familiarise themselves with the school before their first day, and for parents to ask any remaining questions before term begins.

6. club information

Co-curricular clubs are booked through SOCS, the sign-up window opens in July/August. There are many lunch time and after school clubs that the girls can take part in. A small selection of these include: Karate, Art, Coding, Netball, Hockey, Ballet and Digital Art to name but a few!

3. electronic forms

Before your daughter joins Burgess Hill Girls there will be some electronic forms to complete on your parent portal account. The admissions form, medical form and photography consent form are all mandatory, and our admissions team will let you know when to complete these.

7. ACCEPTANCE

The Acceptance deadline is 4 weeks after an offer is made. In order to accept an offer of a place, we must receive a £500 deposit, completed acceptance form and copy of the applicants birth certificate.

4. moving up day

All girls starting Prep School will be invited to our Moving Up Day in June. It’s a chance for the girls to spend a day in their new year group, get to know their surroundings, and feel more at ease when the new term begins.

5. transport sign up

Please email transport@burgesshillgirls.com to register your interest in the transport service by the end of June.
