Or Baklava, a sweet pastry made with filo dough, walnuts, and honey. A tradition in Greece is that when you finish eating, you throw your plate.

The flag of Greece has a complex history dating back to the War of Independence in 1821, when the design of a cross on a blue background and a pattern of nine alternating blue and white stripes was used. The nine stripes represent the nine syllables of the revolution's motto, “Freedom or Death” (Eleftheria i Thanatos), and the colors symbolize the sea and sky (blue) and the purity of the struggle for freedom (white). The white cross on the blue square in the corner represents the Greek Orthodox faith, which was crucial during the Ottoman occupation.
