About the qing dynasty

The Qing Dynasty lasted from 1644 to 1912. It was an imperial empire in China, established by the Manchu people. During their rule, there were large territorial expansions in China, and trade grew on the coast of the country. The Qing Dynasty also saw a flourishing of art, culture, and population growth, making it one of the most prosperous periods in Chinese history. However, internal corruption and peasant uprisings began to weaken the empire over time. By the 19th century, foreign influence and wars further destabilized the dynasty, leading to its eventual fall in 1912.Explore the different pages of this museum using the side bar, and test your knowledge.
