Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) was a huge shift in how technology started being used in education. Starting in the 1960s, it introduced the idea of using computers to guide students through lessons, check their understanding, and give immediate feedback. It really set the stage for modern digital learning by showing that technology could support personalized, self-paced instruction outside of the traditional classroom model.
