Before you start creating your sequence

I will teach 2nd grade students.

The subject will be on science.

mATERIAL AND tECHNOLOGY

mATERIALS :

  • 1 Ziplock sandwich bags per student
  • blue food coloring
  • permanent marker
  • tape
  • water
  • We will use a window in the classroom
  • to have a list of the words (evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection)
  • the students ipad for acess to get information
  • We will use the ipads to be able to do research on the water cycle so that we know how the water cycle works.
  • We will use the TV to watch a video about the water cycle and how it happens.

nine Elements of Project-Based Learning

  • Anchor- I wil start by showing the Water Cycle Video. We will then talk abotu the Water Cycle and what they learned after the video.
  • Task- First we will look up information and facts about the water cycle and write it down. Then the whole class will work all together and create our own water cycle project as a class.
  • Direction- The stuff that we need will be on the board for our project. I will put the materials at the front of the room for everyone to come and get it.
  • Student Choice- Students will choose and partner and they will look up anything they want to on google about the water cycle and get information and facts.
  • Student Inquiry- Students will collect information in their group about the water cycle and answer questions about it.
  • Collaaboration and Teamwork- One student will be looking up information about the water cycle and the other one will be writing this information down that they find.
  • Teacher Coaching and Feedback- The teacher will walk around and help the students fine reliable sources and make sure they stay on task.
  • Student Reflection- The students then will answer questions that I have written on a piece of paper for them and reeflect on their answers they put down.
  • Public Presentation- each group will stand up and tell one fact that they found about the water cycle that they did not know.
