Who Are the Bedouins?

Most live in the Negev desert and make up about 3% of Israel’s population. While many have transitioned to modern life, they continue to preserve their unique identity.

Most Bedouins are Muslim and practice their faith alongside strong tribal customs. Family, honor, and hospitality are central values.

Bedouin food is simple, traditional, and made with natural ingredients. Common dishes include rice, lamb, yogurt, and flatbread baked over fire. Meals are often cooked slowly and shared with guests, showing the Bedouin value of hospitality

It is a painting by Edvard Munch, created in 1893, depicting an anguished figure with a distorted face against a backdrop of intense red sky and a rolling landscape. The work expresses anxiety, fear, and despair, becoming an icon of expressionism and existential anguish.

Bedouins are Arab Muslims who used to live as nomads.
