• I verbi monosillabici che terminano con una consonante preceduta da

una vocale, raddoppiano la consonante: Es: to stop stopping

• Fanno eccezione i verbi terminanti in -w e -x che non raddoppiano la

• Nei verbi che terminano in -l questa viene raddoppiata se preceduta da

una sola vocale: Es: to travel travelling Fanno eccezione i verbi: to fuel fuelling (rifornirsi di carburante); to dial dialling (comporre un numero di telefono) che raddoppiano la -l anche se preceduta da 2 vocali.
