Solving systems of linear equations
y-2x=-4 y + 2=x
GRAPHING
Graphing requires both equations to be put in slope intercept form. (y=mx+b)
Elimination
Elimination requires either the x-value or y-value to be cancelled out. In order to do this you would have to either subtract from a positive number or add to a negative number that way they cancel out.
SUBSTITUTION
Substituion requires you to use the x or y value that already is equal to something, and to substitute it in for that same x or y value in the other solution.
The easiest way to solve this system of equations is substitution. The x-value was already by itself and was equal to a value that was added into the other equation in order to solve for x and y in the easiest way.
