Students will extensively research Leonardo da Vinci, along with a specific piece of art, innovation, or idea he had to recreate. The research phase will last 2-3 days and will consist of gathering research on da Vinci and their artifact, and outlining their posterboard for presentation.
Teacher will create a specific list of tasks for each group of students to work on. This could look like; research - choose artifact - recreate artifact - design presentation - present, in it's most simplest terms.
Teachers will create and present a compelling recreation of da Vinci's work, in order to give example and provide a compelling reason for students to get involved.
Teahcers will then provide specific instructions on how to do the project. First, students must use their computer to research, finding appropriate sites to use. Students will then be given detailed instructions on how to design their recreation, based on their chosen medium, as well as what the presentation should look like.
Students will have multiple opportunities for choices in this project. It is imperative that they choose their own research site for da Vinci. They will then choose what medium to use for their recreation, within the parameters. Students will choose groups, and how to work inside of a group with other students.

During the research and design process, the teacher will answer questions, and help decide what would be the best medium for the student's artifacts. At the end of the project, the teacher will provide a short rubric explaining feedback.
The last section of their project will be a presentation in front of the class that lasts around 5-7 minutes. Each student in the group will take roughly 2.5 minutes to discuss a section of the posterboard that they decided on during the research phase. They will be graded on both the verbal presentation and the quality of their posterboard.
Before they present, students will write a short essay, detailing their experience with their group, and what they learned about Leonardo da Vinci while researching his experiments. It will contain a short question and open-answer section to determine their thoughts on the project in general.
Students will work in groups in order to both research and design their artifiact. They will also have to take turns presenting their posterboard to the classroom.

This project is about a deep dive into Leonardo da Vinci's work and innovations. Therefore, the research, must be the first thought in the grading process. Creativity and collaboration while creating the artifact and designing the posterboard will be an essential part of the total grade as well. The Students will be expected to complete a short reflection stage that will also be taken in to the final grade.

When conducting a presentation, two objectives must be pursued: conveying information and preventing boredom. To achieve this, it can be a good practice to create an outline and use words that will stick in the minds of your audience. If you want to provide additional information or develop the content in more detail, you can do so through your oral exposition. We recommend that you practice your voice and rehearse: the best improvisation is always the most prepared one! Remember to add some animation! Capture your audience's attention with your content and choose the ideal effect by selecting the element and clicking on the Animation icon, which appears just above.
Good: 90% of the information we assimilate comes through our eyes, and we retain 42% more information when the content is moving. When giving a presentation, we must pursue two objectives: transmitting information and avoiding yawns. To achieve this, it can be good practice to create an outline and use words that are etched into your audience's brains. With the Genially templates, you'll be able to include visual resources to leave your audience speechless. You can also highlight a specific phrase or data that will be etched in your audience's memory, and even embed external content that surprises: videos, photos, audios... Whatever you want! What you're reading: interactivity and animation can turn the most boring content into something fun. At Genially, we use AI (Awesome Interactivity) in all our designs, so you can level up with interactivity and turn your content into something that adds value and hooks. Need more reasons to create dynamic content?
