Explanation OF CORE
These 4 C's are my core four because they encompass how I believe technology should be used effectively and appropriately. Creation is available to all students with technology. Consumption is easier and more effective for all people. Curation gives us ways to keep users on track. Connection through technology makes things available to all who choose to connect to the work/technology.
Creation
Using Technology to Allow students to express their creativity by creating content through various medias - presenations, videos, posters, or whatever they can come up with using the technology availble to them. Even with this assignemnt, I am utilizing a new tool, genially, to create this slideshow! In the future, I plan to incorpoated more emerging technologies into my classes - 3D Printing with TinkerCad and an Effective AI Unit.

CONSUMPTION
While passive consumption due to technology can be an issue, active consumption can be more readily available for people. There is additional access for readers, options to change text sizes, change text languages,and enable reading of text! Technology makes consumption unlimited! In order to incorporate better consumption in my classroom we will use technology to read out loud our textbooks and translate student presentions. For example, we do a slide show unit and I will require students to translate 1-2 slides to spanish for students who may not be able to read the slideshow normally using tools available online.
CURATION
Technology allows us the opportunity to go through mass amounts of information with speed and accuracy. Using tools available we can curate something well that flows and goes together. Ebsco Host, for example, is a way to research for specific information quickly. My school just paid for an Ebsco subscription but, our students are not familar with it yet. We will do a deep dive on Ebsco and other similar research tools so students can effectively find legitimate content that is on theme with their assignments, papers, and projects across all classes!
Connection
Technology allows us to communicate and collaborate with each other across the school, workplace, or even world. Additionally, technology has increased the communication skills of students by connecting better. For example, students might be collaborating on work but they have to use explict wording to explain the presentation or the edits to be made. My students easily understand how to connect with people in their school. I want to show them how to create and share things across the world. Allowing students to create portfolio websites through Google Sites that highlight their classwork that they are proud of! This is a top priority for my graphic communications class.
