Origem do Halloween
A origem do Halloween remonta ao festival celta Samhain, que celebrava o fim do verão e o ano novo celta. Com a cristianização, a Igreja Católica transferiu o Dia de Todos os Santos para 1 de novembro, data que coincidia com o Samhain. A noite anterior (31 de outubro) tornou-se a All Hallows' Eve (Véspera de Todos os Santos), dando origem ao nome "Halloween". A tradição chegou aos EUA com imigrantes irlandeses e se popularizou, misturando os rituais celtas com costumes americanos.
