The States of America The United States comprises 50 states, such as Texas and California

The borders The United States borders the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It borders Mexico to the south and Canada to the north.

The mountains The most important mountain range is the Rocky Mountains. The highest mountain is Mount Denali.

The plains In the center of U.S.A. there are 3 plains: -The Great Plains -The Center Plains -The Gulf Coastal Plains

The lakes To the east there are: The lake superior, The lake michigan, The lake erie, The lake huron, The lake ontario. To the west there is only one lake: The great salt lake.

The rivers In teh U.S.A. there are only 3 rivers: Mississippi rivers, Rio Grande, Colombia river. The Rio Grande marks the borderr whit Mexico

Washington

Washington or D.C., is the capital of the United States of America. It is located on the east coast of the United States of America.

Washington is called "D.C." to distinguish it from the States of Washington

The US flag, the "Stars and Stripes", has its origins in the Revolutionary War: June 14, 1777.

The American flag, called the "Stars and Stripes", has 13 stripes (7 red and 6 white) representing the 13 original colonies and 50 white stars on a blue field symbolizing the 50 current states.
