The Haunted Laboratory of Electra von Ion
Electron Configuration Escape Room
Welcome, Brave Chemists!
... to the Haunted Laboratory of Electra von Ion! Long ago, the brilliant (and slightly unstable) Dr. Von Ion tried to create the Perfect Atom—one that could contain infinite energy. But in her final experiment, her electrons spun out of control! Her spirit still haunts this lab, and tonight, on All Hallow’s Eve, strange quantum energies stir again… To escape before the clock strikes midnight, you must restore her atom’s lost electron configurations and balance the energies of the elements. Each correct configuration unlocks another chamber of the lab. Fail… and you’ll be trapped in an orbital forever! Your mission: complete all the challenges to reveal the Secret Element of Eternity and escape the lab!
The Orbital Spell
Electron Filling Order Aufbau Principle

3d, 1s, 2p, 4s, 2s, 3p, 4p, 3s, 5s
Follow the staircase of energy—lowest to highest—to climb out of the dark.
Arrange orbitals in the correct order of increasing engery.
2p, 4s, 3d, 1s, 3p, 2s, 4p, 3s
Even potions must be mixed in order—from smallest bottle to largest flask.
Arrange orbitals in the correct order of increasing engery.
5s, 4p, 3s, 4d, 3p, 1s, 2s
The Crypt of Energy
Arrange orbitals in the correct order of increasing engery.
6s, 3p, 5p, 4d, 2s, 1s, 3d, 2p, 5s
