We better capture visual content. Visual content is associated with cognitive and psychological mechanisms. Things enter through the eyes, the first image is the one that counts. We associate visual content with emotions.

Our brain is designed to consume visual content. Some data: 90% of the information we process comes through sight, and we process visual content up to 60,000 times faster than text. That's why visual communication ismore effective.

With Genially templates, you can include visual resources to leave your audience amazed. You can also highlight a specific phrase or fact that will be etched in your audience's memory, and even embed external content that surprises: videos, photos, audios...Whatever you want!

We don't like to bore. We don't want to be repetitive. Communicating as always is boring and doesn't engage. We do it differently. We sabotage boredom. We create what the brain likes to consume becauseit stimulates.

What you read: interactivity and animation can turn the most boring content into something fun.
Diversity, kindness, and academic excellence
Knoles Elementary School’s core values are guided by the Knoles Pledge:
Be kind to yourself, be kind to others, and be kind to our school.
Each morning begins with the reading of this pledge by the students in every classroom. In addition to the recitation of the pledge daily, it is also posted in various areas around the school as a reminder to students and teachers to represent well the school and community that they are models of.
Insight to Academics
Recently, the school has integrated a new literacy and reading curriculum known as the 95 phonics core program. This is the focal point of academics this year. Each classroom, k-5, utilizes these lessons every day and uses it as a progress monitor schoolwide. Upon entering the school, you will immediately see a poster with each teacher’s name listed on it entitled “95 Percent”. A statistic is listed by each teacher’s name indicating the number of students that produce work that signifies them to be on track with the curriculum. The purpose of this is to motivate students as well as teachers to strive towards success!
Behavioral Data
Knoles Elementary School’s student disciplinary past data revealed that more than a few students were being sent to the office for disruption and disrespect. As a result, the school implemented Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) and staff members who work specifically for the needs of children in this area. Instead of putting behavioral issues primarily on the teachers, staff members, such as Mr. Cristo Tabares, drop in to classrooms to observe and correct behavior issues. On occasion, students will be pulled out for additional support.
A Sense of Community
Unique to Knoles Elementary school, there are a couple of programs and clubs that are offered to students and families that call this school home! Fourth and fifth graders are invited to join a school choir, and fathers and adult male figures meet for “Watch DOGS” (dads of great students). This creates a sense of community within the school that includes both students and their families.
Who Makes up the School?
More than half of the population at Knole Elementary School is accounted for by minority groups. There are specifically large numbers of Native American and Hispanic students and staff members. This creates a very diverse environment that fosters exposure and appreciation for varying communities.
Outstanding Staff
Knoles Elementary School is led by principal Pete Galvin and supported by a multitude of incredible staff members. Each grade level has a faculty lead who demonstrates strong advocacy for the students, families, and staff within their circle. While this was not directly pointed out to me, it is evident in the way that the grade levels function.
