Syllabus This is used at YCP in many fashions, but you can still use your traditional syllabus and link it on the modules page and here if you like. The nice part of this page is the list of assignments and dates.
Course homepage
There is generally no requirement for a specific course homepage for most courses at YCP. Typically, faculty leave the default to the modules view, but you can find a variety of options on campus.
Sandbox Courses
The term "Canvas" refers to a designated practice environment where no students are enrolled, enabling you to test functionalities or store course shells for future use.
At YCP, simply send an email to LTShelp@ycp.edu to request the sandboxes you require.

Canvas Files The Files area holds files, assignments, syllabi, readings, or other documents, as well as profile pictures and user-specific files. Instructors can lock folders and files so they can only be viewed by direct links or only be unlocked on a specific date.
Canvas Pages Pages store content and resources that are part of a course but don’t necessarily belong in an assignment. Pages can include text, video, and links to files and other course content. Pages can also be linked to other Canvas pages. Additionally, they can be a collaboration tool when used as a wiki.
ModulesModules allow instructors to organize content to help control the flow of the course.

Grades and Assignments
Canvas assignments are not just for collecting files, links, or text. They can also work as placeholders for in-person classes or for ungraded assignments. Assignments create a column in the Canvas gradebook.
What assignment types can I create in a course?
How do I create an assignment? (written and video assistance)
How do I add or edit details in an assignment? (written and video assistance)
How do I use the Gradebook? (written and video assistance)
Assignments are the key to gradebook set up!
