If you haven't already done so, go to lu-community.com and create an account.An Lu Community account is not required, but it is recommended so you can favorite and create content.

1. Sign in as a New User

2. Complete the Prompts.

3. Make sure to sign in to your Lu Community so your content shows up on the Lu System.

Menu Overview

Home

Once signed in, you will start on the main home page of the Lu software. Here, you'll see recently added content, liked content, Lu recommendations, etc. On the Lu system, you'll use the trackpad or arrow keys to open the left-side menu. For this demonstration, click on the the left-side menu icons to fully open the menu.

Select a menu item to learn more and walkthrough using the software.

The applications page shows all applications with the choice to filter by categories. You can use the trackpad to click and open an application. Or, use the arrow keys to move to highlight different applications. Press OK to open the highlighted application. Using the arrow keys to highlight an application will give you some key details specific to that application. Click here to explore.

For Target, you can choose to have the targets remain in their column and only move vertically or choose Free for the targets to move anywhere. To continue click on Target per Column.

For many activities, you can choose the number of teams (or players if they are playing individually) To continue click on 4 Teams.

Notice the icons at the bottom. If you need to make an adjustment to a previous page, you can click on the icon and return to that page.

After all configurations have been made, select the play button to start the activity. Click on Play to continue.

A countdown will begin and teams can begin throwing balls at their target. Click on the blue target to continue.

Notice the timer has gone down and turned yellow because time is almost up. A star indicates the current team with the most points. The targets have shifted vertically. Click on the blue target to continue.

Once the timer runs out, stars highlight the team with the most points. When an activity is over, certain options will appear. Over over the icons to learn more. Click on Exit to continue.

In Newton, you can choose default content which is 2 terms and selected operations. Or, you can choose from Lu Content, My Content (content created on Lu Community), or Liked Content For this walkthrough, you are able to click on Play Default Content or Addition 2, 3, and 4 Terms under My Content.

In Mineword, default word lists are available or you can choose from My content (content created in Lu Community) or Lu Content. For this walkthrough, you are able to click on Water Cycle Vocab or 2nd Grade Spelling list under My Content.

In this activity, students throw balls at the letters to spell the word the image on the crate is depicting. In Easy mode, the carts show the number of letters in the word and all letters shown are in the word. In Normal mode, as shown here, there are a few extra letters. To continue, click on the first letter in the word.

Once the word is correctly spelled, the carts will leave, a new create will appear with a new image. A new set of empty carts will come in and letters will appear for students to spell the new image. Click here to see Ninja mode.

In Ninja mode, only one cart appears at a time so the student cannot see how many letters are in the word. There are also more letters to choose from. To return to the Mineword menu, click on the first letter of the word depicted by the image on the crate.
