It is the place and the physical conditions, such as water, rocks, air… non living conditions.
It is the group of living beings that live in an ecosystem. In a community, there are some populations, the group of living beings of the same species.
- Predation (depredación): some animals eat other animals. The lion is the predator and the buffalo is the prey.
- Competence: two organisms eat the same food.
- Cooperation: different organisms help each other. Bacteriae and human beings.
The poles have very low temperaturas and very little amount of animals and plants.
PRODUCERS
They are plants, algae or some bacteria. They are autotrophic because they make their own food.
Deserts are found in dry regions with exteme temperatures. There are a little plants and animals.
DECOMPOSERS
Fungi and some bacteria. They are heterotrophic because they eat rests of living beings.
CONSUMERS
Animals are heterotrophic because they eat other living beings.
Jungles have a wide variety of fauna and flora. The weather is hot and wet.
Grasslands (praderas): plants in grasslands are herbaceous and they are used as pasture (pasto) for cattle (ganado). Temperatures are mild.
Forests (bosques) are ecosystems with many trees. In the forest there live a lot of animals like birds and small mammals.
Saltwater ecosystems have high salinity and the water is in constant movement. We find them in seas and oceans.
Freshwater ecosystems: water in these ecosystems has very low salinity. We find them in rivers and lakes.
THE BIOTOPE OR HABITAT: it is the place and the physical conditions, such as water, rocks, air… non living conditions.
