REcap
1. subject - is about who or what the sentence is talking about. 2. verb - is what the subject is doing or feeling. ex. identify the subject and verb in the sentence Ex. The vicious dog runs very fast.
So what do i mean with agreement?
When we are making sentences, the subject and the verb must agree in the term of number being use. When we say number we refer to either subject and singular. Do you know the rules to make sure that the sentence has the correct subject-verb agreementf?
Sentences with singular nouns
-When the sentence is in singular, the verb must be singular aswell, which means that we tend to add an "-s" or "-es" to the sentence. The apple grows on the tree. (see how the verb grow has an s when apple is sinuglar). -Same with the pronouns that are singular like he, she, it needs that the verb agree with them. She knows the rule of this topic very well.
Sentences with Plural nouns
-When the sentence is in plural, the verb has to be in plural too. (which means we leave the verb as it is. The apples grow on the tree. (see how the verb grow is the same when apple is plural). -Same with the pronouns that are plural like I, you, we, they. (and yes I and you are considered plural in the english language I know the rule of this topic very well.
Practice
Before we fix or verify sentences, identify the following nouns in plural and singualr, and give them a verb that agrees with them.1. you2. teammates3. shoes4. dog5. men6. child
And that's it for today!
