Introduction
Welcome to the density escape room! Read through the directions below before you begin.
Density is a property of matter that allows us to identify substances. You will use the density formula to calculate the density of mystery objects and make your way out of each room. You will have to search for clues and use your science knowledge to complete the tasks. Click the more info tab for background about how to solve for density. Then, click the next button to begin.

Density formula: d=m/v You will first need to find the mass of the sample by adding the values on the triple beam balance. Next, you will find the volume using the formula l x w x h, or using displacement (subtract the initial volume from the final volume on the graduated cylinder). Once you find the mass and the volume, plug the numbers into the density equation. You can then use the density chart to find a substance with a similar density to the one that you cancluated. Choose the option with the closest density (it does not need to be exact)
