Classic Novels
I would like to read at least two classics this year- here are some of my top contenders:
Christian Book of the Month:
- Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss
Bible Reading Plan
Christian Books
I have already chosen my main Christian book for the month, but Now I have to decide on a Bible reading plan for November. I want at least 100 pages of my reading for the month to come from Scripture.
+Info
- The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius
- Ion by Plato
- On Truth and Untruth by Friedrich Nietzsche
Philosophy
Another goal that I have is to read 1-2 philosophy books this month. Here are some of my top choices.
+Info
- The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie
- Anything from Chronicles of Narnia
- Maybe the Hobbit... again....
Light Reads
Towards the middle of the challenge, I get tired of reading books that are too dense, and sometimes a light read in between other books can help fuel motivation.
Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas R. Hofstadter The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri
The Long Book
I try to use this challenge as an opportunity to read at least one really long book. Here are some that I am deciding between:
- Intellectuals by Paul Johnson
- The Truth and Beauty by Andrew Klavan
- Poetic Knowledge by James Taylor
Non-Fiction
Here are some non-fiction options for when I'm between different genres.
