Early Experience
I knew I loved exploring my creative side, but I wasn’t sure what that truly meant. Marketing and social media had always piqued my interest, so I started applying for volunteer roles in those areas. That’s when I realized how much I enjoyed the digital space; creating PowerPoints, designing posters and graphics in Canva, choosing color palettes. I loved every part of it!
...
As my journey continues, I’m excited to keep learning about instructional design across different industries, exploring how people learn, grow, and connect in new and creative ways.
Introduction to L&D
It all began with a call from a recruiter at a company I’d nearly forgotten I applied to. To my surprise, she wasn’t contacting me about my original role, instead, after hearing about my interests in visual design and background, she suggested I explore the Learning & Development position. I took her advice, applied, and fast forward… I got the internship!
What do I major in?
With a deep curiosity and a wide range of interests, choosing a major once felt like defining my entire future; a little too final for someone who loves exploring new ideas. I began in Public Relations, transitioned to Human-Centered Design then Information Sciences & Technology, and ultimately found my fit in Strategic Communications..
Part 2?
After completing my first L&D internship, I developed a real love and curiosity for instructional design. As an avid learner myself, it was incredible to see the impact of my work, and I craved that feeling of satisfaction knowing I was helping others grow. I loved how the field blended technology, design, and education into one. So when I saw an opening for a Global L&D Intern at Tiffany & Co., I knew I had to go for it!
Becoming
Is this my fate? A bit cheesy? Maybe. But during my internship at Tiffany, I realized this was something I genuinely wanted to keep pursuing, and from that point on, I was all in.
