Mary Lennox is a girl living in India, but her life isn't happy. One day,her family got sick from cholera and died,Mary is now an orphan. She’s sent to Misselthwaite to live with her uncle,Mr.Craven, who is always sad. Mary feels lonely and bored, but soon she starts exploring the gardens and the house. She hears about a secret garden that has been closed for years since her aunt died. No one wants to talk about it, but Mary becomes curious,one day, a robin helps her find a hidden key. She opened the gate and steps into the forgotten garden.

She met a boy,Dickon who helped her to take care of the garden.There is another secret in the house,one night, Mary hears crying and discovers Colin, a sick boy who’s been hidden away in a room. He’s her cousin. She took Colin outside,to breathe fresh air, and to see the garden. Together with Dickon, the three children become close friends and helped each other. Colin, who couldn’t even sit up at first, learns to walk. And Mary becomes kinder, and very happy. In the end, Mary’s uncle returns home and is shocked to find his son healthy. When he sees the garden again and Colin running to him, even he finds happiness again.
