Perfect Competition Features
In a perfectly competitive market, firms doesn't have any control over the price, i.e. they are price takers. The demand curve they face is perfectly elastic. Because of homogeneous products buyers will immediately switch to competitors if there will be price fluctuation.
Characters of Perfect Competition: 1. Many buyes and sellers 2. Homogeneous Products 3. Free entry and exit from the market 4. No control over market price
While no market is perfectly competitive in reality, some industries come close. Examples include agricultural markets (like wheat or corn), foreign exchange markets, and stock trading platforms. These markets feature many sellers, standarized products, and transparent pricing. In perfect competition firms produce at the most efficient output lecvel. This leads to maximum consumer welfare and prductive efficiency in the short run.

Where Firms Maximize Profit?
In perfect competition, firms maximize the profit by producing the quantity where MC = MR Since the firm is a price taker, MR = Price and the demand curve is elastic The optimal output is found at the point where the MC curves intersects the horizontal MR line. Producing more or less than this quantity will reduce oroft.
