The lights hum to life one by one, cold and white. You’re seated in an empty office — just a desk, a single folder, and a faint smell of something burning.
On the intercom, a calm voice says:
“Welcome, valued client. Thank you for choosing Guardian Life.”
Papers rustle behind the walls.
“Your claim has been received. Your death is currently being processed. Please remain calm while we finalize your payout.”
The clock on the wall begins to tick backward. The door locks. The folder opens by itself.
