Group creation reminders

Thinking about creating a group? Consider the following:

  • Do you want to create a community of learners, and if so, are there enough applicable team members to build that community?
  • Do you want to create a custom catalog for this subset of users?

Have no fear! Keep in mind, groups can be created or deleted, and group settings can be modified at any time.

Creating a Group

Creating a group is easy! Just click theCreate button toward the top-right of your platform and then click Group. A window will appear, allowing you to adjust the group's privacy settings, designate the parent group, and activate Learning Needs.

Group settings

Groups have general settings that can be modified at any time and can be accessed by hovering over the group and then clicking the gear.

Each group's settings include the ability for you to modify:

  • Group name and welcome message
  • Group privacy
  • Toggle Learning Needs off/on
  • Additional information (i.e., a custom field for the group)
Platform administrators can edit any group’s details and group administrators can edit groups they are an admin of.

Deleting a group

Deleting a group is just as easy as creating one! Please note that deleting a group will also delete the following:

  • Subgroups beneath the deleted group
  • Users who are not members of another group
  • Posts, comments, reactions, and likes created in the group
  • Projects and Learning Needs owned by the group
To delete a group, access the group's settings and click Delete Group toward the bottom of the page. Platform admins can delete any group, and Group Admins can delete their own group.
