The Workforce Planning Committee was introduced in 2023 to allow the Coordination site to be strategic and intentional about workforce planning decisions. This shift in process allowed the Coordination site to identify and act on strategic priorities in a coordinated way, while minimizing decisions that could ultimately harm PIH’s budget

The goal of adopting a workforce planning process was “to address long-standing gaps that have existed between workforce planning and budgeting in an effort to align each department’s growth strategy with our programmatic priorities in support of transparency.”March 2023 Launch Email

PURPOSE

- Principal, Chief Finance & Systems Officer -Chief Human Resources Officer -Chief of Staff to CEO -Senior Director of Total Rewards

The WPC meets bi-weekly to review all forms submitted by employees or managers, including new FTE requests, role reviews and backfill requests.

-Requests for new FTEs -Backfill decisions -Roles being substantially changed -Requests for role review -Site expansions and contractions

Ensure workforce planning decisions are made in line with the Coordination site's priorities and realities. Maintain a process that supports consistency, accessibility and fairness across all teams.

PURPOSE

-Senior Director of Total Rewards-Coordination Site HR Director-PIH-US HR Director -Associate Director of Talent Acquisition -Senior Manager of EDI -Senior HR Coordinator

- A new role is being opened and has been approved by the Workforce Planning Committee- An existing employee is receiving a progression or promotion - An existing role is being changed by 50% or more

- Manager submits draft JD to JEC via SharePoint form -JEC reviews JD and provides feedback to manager -Manager and JEC work to finalize JD -JEC appoves final JD and assigns salary

The JEC is responsible for reviewing all new/updated job descriptions for PIH-US and U.S. Coordination Site roles and assigning them to the salary bands. The JEC ensures consistency of scope, titles and salaries across Coordination and PIH-US.
