Understanding your Scope of Loss
The Scope of Loss is the paperwork your insurance company sends to show what’s covered. If you’re seeing this, rest easy—your roof is included in that coverage!
How we know its a full approval
What if it ends up costing more than what insurance is paying?
How the payments from insurance work
Common Questions
Since your claim has been approved, your insurance will send the funds directly to you. To receive them faster, we recommend setting up direct deposit in your insurance portal; otherwise, a check will arrive in about 1–2 weeks.
Who do I pay the deductable to?
When will I get the money?
This doesnt seem like enough money?
You’ve only received the first payment from your insurance. After your roof is completed and we submit supplements and collect your deductible, your insurance will release the remaining funds.
Deductibles work like a co-pay at the dentist—your insurance covers part, and you’re responsible for the rest. Your deductible is paid directly to Robinhood Roofing after the installation.
When do I pay the deductable?
What do I need to do to get my roof on?
What do I do with the check?
When you receive your check—or if you already have it—you can either deposit it and we’ll send you an invoice, or simply endorse it and we’ll pick it up. Once we have it, we can get your roof scheduled right away.
Your deductible is due after your roof is completed to your satisfaction. All insurance funds should be transferred as soon as they’re received.
Once we’ve received the initial funds, we’ll start pulling the permit and getting your roof scheduled! The full roofing process typically takes 1–2 days, with permitting about 1.5 weeks out.

What kind of shingles do we use?
After inspecting thousands of roofs and seeing countless shingle types, we confidently recommend the IKO Dynasty series above all others.
Warrenty Information
The Dynasty shingles we use come with a lifetime warranty for the original homeowner, full replacement coverage for the first 15 years, and prorated coverage after that. They’re rated for winds up to 130 mph and include 10 years of algae protection.

Installation
Important things to know for your day of installation
So whats next?
After we confirm your color selections and collect the first insurance payment, we’ll immediately begin the permit process. Once your city approves the permit, we’ll schedule your roof installation right away!
Day Before Install
- Materials delivered — We’ll place the shingles and supplies on your roof to speed up installation.
- Dump trailer set — We’ll park our dump trailer at the base of your home.
Please make sure your driveway is clear.
Day of Install
Arrival: We'll show up around 7:30 AM the morning of your install.
Protection: We'll tarp off bushes and landscaping before starting.
Noise: It will be loud with consistent banging throughout the day.
Debris: Expect nails, dust, and roofing materials in the yard and gutters.
Mid-Process: Things can look messy or chaotic before cleanup, but it’s all part of the process.
Photos: Our project managers take certain photos of the roofing progress to send off to the insurance.
Safety: Please keep pets and children indoors and clear from work areas. Please be aware of the nails.
After Roof Install
Nails: Despite our best efforts, you may still find a few nails around the property after the job. We recommend wearing shoes outside for the first few days, just in case.
Cleanup: Once the roof is complete, we’ll do a full magnetic nail sweep, clean out the gutters, and tidy up your yard.
Debris: Some dust or small debris may settle in flower beds or tight areas—this is normal and typically clears out with the next rain or light rinse.
Trailer & Extra Materials: We order extra materials to ensure that the roof gets done as seamlessly as possible. The trailer and extra materials will be picked up 1-3 days after.
Final Walkthrough: A project manager may follow up to ensure everything looks great and you're happy with the results.
Certificate of Completion: We’ll provide a Certificate of Completion confirming the work was finished and meets the agreed insurance scope.
Let us know if anything feels off. We stand behind our work and want you to love the final result.
Things to consider
Pets & Outdoor Items: We recommend keeping pets indoors and moving any fragile decorations, plants, or furniture to a safe location.
Inside Prep: Consider securing wall & ceiling-mounted items that could fall from vibrations.

- Scheduling – We’ll give you a call to confirm your install date. Let us know your preferred days and we’ll do our best to accommodate!

What if hidden costs end up costing more than insurance
At the end of the day, although insurance companies try to be accurrate with their estimates, they are only an estimate. If the scope of work ends up increasing due to city code requriments or construction needs. All* of those additional expenses are billed directly to the insurance company. You still only need to worry about your deductable. We will be including you on email chains with your insurance when communicating this to them. Dont worry, you personally still dont have to pay anymore than your deductable.
Insurance will also mark some items as PWI, or to only be paid out after they are completed, and thus arent included in the total price of the origonal estimate. This will also lead to the final check sent by insurance to be higher than the number predicted on the estimate.
*Something that is potentually not covered even with a full approval is rotting wood. We will replace 3 sheets of wood on the roof as a courtasy but after that each sheet of wood will be $40, at request we will inspect and give you an idea of how much is potentually wrotten.
How we know its a full approval and whats covered
The biggest indicator of a full approval is when the amount of tear off matches (or is close to) the number of Squares (Square Feet / 100) that has been provided in the measurments. If their giving us the go-ahead to tear off the roof, then you can know its completely covered to put back on.
Classic Metal Roof These roofs are custom-made by a metal manufacturer and measured precisely for your home. They look incredible, improve heat control, and include a full 5-year workmanship warranty.
The Lifetime Roof Backed by a 50-year, unlimited-transfer, no-proration warranty with 20 years of full labor coverage, this roof is built to last a lifetime. It offers the highest energy savings of all our options and can outlast three full asphalt roof cycles. Fun fact: it’s based on the same roofing technology first developed for WWII bomb shelters.
Get new gutters with your new roof Sometimes gutters are covered by insurance, but not always. If you’d like an estimate for new gutters, let us know before your approval appointment!

Replacement Cost Value:This is the total estimated by insurance it will take to replace your roof pre-supplement Less Depreciation: This is the amount withheld by insurnace until after the roof is done Less Deductible: This is the amount the department of insurance requires the homeowner pay Net Claim: Total amount insurance will send before the roof project is completed Total Recoverable Depreciation: Predicted amount insurance will send after roof is completed pre-supplement
*At times insurance companies will have different policys of how they format their documents, for more specific guidance please ask us, but no matter what money arrives when, all you will need to pay out of pocket is your deductable when fully covered.
Premium Asphal Shingles IKO Armourshake™ shingles feature a luxurious, dimensional design with heavy-duty construction for lasting protection.
