Sleep consists 4 stages the deepest of which are known as slow wave sleep and rapid eye movment. For most of us sleep feels like a pause button were we jump on the bed shut our eyes and are bodys stop functioning.

During the day, when there is light, your brain releases a hormone called cortisol, which keeps you awake up and going.As the sun sets and the night appears causing darkness your brain trigers the release of melatolin a harmone that makes you sleepy.
