What is privilege?

- Afforded and granted by construction of race, gender, etc.-Unearned opportunities people didn't need to work for

Forms of privilege

• Class privilege- Upper class gets the most benefits even if it isn't earned
• Educational privilege- In order to have a stable job you need a college degree
• Racial privilege- White people automatically are given opportunities because of skin color and not merit

Harms of privilege

1. Exclusion: groups are given les opportunites and segregated from the rest
2. Injustice: groups are then treated unfairly which can cause to society as a whole
3. Isolation: minority groups are then seperated from the rest of society with no access to the opportunities of the other groups
