Step 1: Access your MyBSU Portal

To begin, what you are going to want to do is search for your MyBSU portal. This is the easiest way to access the AAC's appointment website. Once you are on your MyBSU Portal (make sure you are signed in to your BSU student account), you will see multiple different drop-down menus as you scroll down the page. The hyperlink you are going to want to click is under the category "Academics" titled "Academic Achievement Center". Once you click the "Academic Achievement Center" hyperlink, your device will automatically take you to the AAC's homepage. In the middle of your screen, there will be two white boxes with red lettering in them. Click the first box that says "Click here for Academic Coaching & Tutoring Appointments". This hyperlink will take you to a scheduling website called Accudemia.

Step 2: Enter Accudemia

Once you are in Accudemia, you will see multiple different options to click on. In the top left box, you are going to see a menu that will list all your upcoming appointments. This is the menu you will need to use in order to make an appointment. In the "Upcoming Appointments" box, in the top right corner, click where it says "Schedule Appointment". It should be in white lettering with a "+" sign to the left of it.

Step 3: Choose your Meeting Type

Once you have clicked the box that says "Schedule Appointment", you will then be taken to the first official step of the appointment-making process within Accudemia: Choosing your meeting type. Once there, you will have two different main options: Coaching for Time Management & Study Skills OR Tutoring Services. Since we are discussing how to make a Writing Studio Appointment, you will focus on the second option titled "Tutoring Services". Under the "Tutoring Services" option, you will see a list of different departments that the AAC offers within its tutoring services. You will see two options for the Writing Studio (which will appear as the last two options. The List is in alphabetical order. The option you select will depend on whether you prefer an in-person appointment or an online appointment via Zoom. Once you decide which method of meeting you would prefer, click the corresponding link. The links will say either "Writing Studio-Feedback on Writing IN-PERSON" or Writing Studio-Feedback on Writing ONLINE"

Step 4: Choose your Tutor/Appointment Time

Once you are done with Step 3, you will then be directed to a menu that will list all your current courses. Select the course for which you need assistance. Once you have chosen the course you want to look at, you will be directed to a page that will allow you to select the duration of your meeting. Note, the Writing Studio allows students to schedule 30-minute or 60-minute appointments. When you have chosen the duration of your meeting, a list of available tutors will appear depending on the day on which you want to schedule your appointment. You will also have the ability to see the current week or future weeks if you wish. When you have found the tutor you want to schedule your meeting with, click on the green box beneath their name on the day/time you want to meet with them.

Step 5: Confirming Your Appointment

Almost there! After you click on the green box under the tutor's name that reflects the time you want to meet, you will be directed to one final screen. On this screen, you will be able to make this appointment recurring if you wish (this is optional, but available if you wish to meet with your selected tutor at the same time for a certain number of weeks), attach any notes or documents you want your tutor to see before your meeting, and a preview listing everything you have selected before comfirming your appointment. Once you have checked to make sure the appointment preview accurately reflects what you want, click on the green box that says "Confirm." Click Confirm, and you're done! You will receive an email from Accudemia in your school email regarding your confirmed appointment, as well as the ability to view your appointment in the "Upcoming Appointments" menu, where you started Step 2. If you want to access Accudemia more easily, be sure to create a bookmark on your device using the link to Accudemia! NOTE: If you schedule an online appointment, in order to join the session, you will need to click on the red box that says "Join" to the right of the appointment description. You will find this under "Upcoming Appointments". You will only be able to join the Zoom no earlier than half an hour before your session. That is when the red "Join" box will appear.
