Yes. Zotero supports thousands of citation styles, including APA 7th, MLA, and Chicago. You can switch styles anytime through Edit > Preferences > Cite > Styles in the Zotero desktop app.

To include a narrative citation (where the author’s name appears as part of the sentence), type the author’s name manually in your text, then use the Zotero Add/Edit Citation tool to insert only the year in parentheses. For example: Smith (2022) argues that... To insert only the year, add the citation and check the “Omit Author” box from the Zotero citation popup box before pressing Enter.

Zotero automatically syncs your citations if you use a Zotero.org account, but it’s wise to also back up your data folder (under Preferences > Advanced > Files and Folders) regularly, especially before major writing milestones.
