BINARY CODE

O código binário é um sistema numérico que utiliza apenas os dígitos 0 e 1. É a linguagem base dos computadores, usada para representar dados e instruções. Tudo o que um computador processa — textos, imagens ou sons — é convertido para código binário.

BIT

Um bit (abreviação de binary digit) é a menor unidade de informação num sistema informático. Pode assumir apenas dois valores: 0 ou 1. Vários bits combinados formam dados mais complexos, como letras, números e imagens.

Byte

Um byte é uma unidade de informação digital composta por 8 bits. Cada bit pode ter o valor de 0 ou 1, por isso um byte pode representar 256 combinações diferentes (de 00000000 a 11111111). Os bytes são usados para armazenar dados nos computadores, como letras, números, símbolos ou partes de imagens e sons. Por exemplo, uma letra simples, como o “A”, é normalmente armazenada num byte.

ASCII

ASCII (sigla de American Standard Code for Information Interchange) é um código padrão usado para representar caracteres (como letras, números e símbolos) em formato digital, através de números. Cada carácter no código ASCII é representado por um número entre 0 e 127, que é armazenado num byte (mais precisamente, em 7 bits).
