Example: "Good morning class! Today we will be learning the impact that natural disasters can have on the world. "Use the following link to find three potential consequences a tsunami would have on Earth: https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/" Students must then show that they gathered information from a website on their own to support their consequences they listed.

Collaboration and Teamwork

What is it? When students work in groups to complete a task while learning a variety of leadership skills by assigning and following up on responsibilities, seeking information, making a plan of action and doing other group activities

"Watch the following video to witness animals using teamwork to save one another"

Andre picked "wildfire" as the answer to this question. To give him feedback and coaching, I would show Andre an example of each of these elements and allow him to attempt the question again after providing him with explanations of exactly what all 3 options consist of

What is it? When teachers show or tell students how to improve what they are doing or how to better follow directions and meet project requirements

Student Reflection

What is it?When a student reflects back on his/her work to evaluate how to strengthen their work, correct it, or learn from it.

As a lesson wrap up activity, I would give students an exit slip concisting of the following questions. "What is one thing you are most proud of about your presentation? What is one thing you believe you could have done better within your presentation? Provide a 2 sentence answer for both questions."

Public Presentation

What is it?When a student showcases their work and presents it in front of others

This is an example of a student who is presenting a project she created to her elementary class peers.
