Past Simple Regular Verbs: Affirmative and Negative Statements We use simple past to talk about finished actions in the past. We make past form of regular verbs by adding -ed "Grandma played (affirmative) / didn't play (negative) board games." For Verbs that end in -e just add -d: We danced over by the house.

Present Real Conditional Use the present real conditional to talk about something that happens as a result of something else that happens. If the bag drops, lots of things will fall out! Form present real conditionals with "when" or "if" and a simple present. The two parts of a present real conditional sentence can change places.
Past Continuous Use past continuous to talk about things that were happening at a certain time in the past. Form the past continuous by putting the past form of "be" before the main verb and adding "-ing" to the end. Remember: Ride - "e" + "-ing" = Riding Agree - +"-ing" = Agreeing Tie - ie (y) + "-ing" = Tying Shop - double consonant = Shopping

Adjectives:"-ed" and "ing" Use adjectives to descibe people, places, events and feelings You can use adjectives before nouns. Adjectives can be used after verbs like be, seem, and feel. Adjectives can be used together with a comma or and.
Gerunds When you add -"ing" to a verb, it can act like a noun. A gerund can also be the object of a sentence. Use gerunds after verbs which describe likes and dislikes. Use gerunds after phrases with an adjective + preposition.
Can and Could for Ability Use "Can" to talk about things you can do now. Use "Could" to talk about things you were able to do in the past. Can and Could don't change form like other verbs: Example: They can make hats and scrafs.
Future Plans with "Going to" Use going to discuss future plans: Affirmative: I'm going to travel by train. Negative: I'm not going to travel. Questions: Am I going to travel by train? When you use "going to" you change the verb "be" but not the main verb.

Simple Past Questions Review We form simple past questions with regular and irregular verbs in the same way. We ask Yes / No questions with Did. Present Real Conditional Use the present real conditional to talk about something that happens as a result of something else that happens. If the bag drops, lots of things will fall out! Form present real conditionals with "when" or "if" and a simple present. The two parts of a present real conditional sentence can change places.
Past Continuous Use past continuous tp talk about things that were happening at a certain time in the past. Form the past continuous by putting the past form of "be" before the main verb and adding "-ing" to the end.
