• Assemble a Portfolio Checklist and select strong, cohesive images to include.
• Apply feedback and revisions to ensure your materials are presentation-ready.

Milestone 2:

Short-Form Writing - Defining Your Practice

Focus: Strengthen your written communication through key professional documents.

Key Achievements

• Write and refine your Artist Statement to express your artistic vision and intent.
• Develop a Narrative Bio that captures your background, influences, and creative path.
• Explore how your writing supports and enhances your visual portfolio.

You will:

• Identify key course policies and expectations as outlined in the syllabus and course site.
• Navigate and explore the Canvas course structure (e.g., locate modules, assignments, and resources).
• Introduce yourself to the class through a brief self-introduction discussion.

Milestone 5:

Mentorship & Connection - Building Relationships

Focus: Develop networking skills and learn from creative professionals.

Key Achievements

• Identify three artists, mentors, or creative professionals who inspire you.
• Conduct an Informational Interview with at least one individual and summarize what you learned.
• Reflect on how these relationships and insights can inform your own professional path.

• Present your work and ideas to peers and the instructor, demonstrating growth in articulation and presentation skills.

Focus: Showcase your fully developed artistic identity and professional materials.

• Finalize your Digital Portfolio (for BAs: submit as a website).
