Welcome to "ride the REPUBLIC"

The United States Government Theme Park- An Interactive Tour of the Republic

Start here!

Welcome to "Ride the REPUBLIC" - where the people hold the power, and the constitution sets the rules.

have a balloon and enjoy!

Start your journey at any of the ALL American Attractions!!

Section 4: The People’s Ferriswheel — Popular Sovereignty & Limited Government

This welcoming ride represents the people’s power. Visitors can “vote” on new features, symbolizing citizens’ control over park(government). The rules of the park (the Constitution) limit what can be added. This represents limited government. The park belongs to the people, and its rules protect their freedom!!

SEPARATION OF POWER: But make it a CIRCUS!

Each circus act shows its role: Legislative locksmith makes laws 🎠 Executive acrobat enforces laws 🎯 Judicial juggler interprets laws ⚖️ During intermission you might get to see the the President of the acrobats vetoing a bill OR The juggling justices declating a law unconstitutional!!

Commerce Clause — lets Congress regulate trade between states. (traveling all over the park!)Elastic Clause — lets Congress stretch its powers to meet new needs.(taking people where they need to go!) Supremacy Clause — ensures federal law is the highest law in the land.(So high its up in the air!!)

Separation of powers Snack bar

how will you choose? good thing they go GREAT together!

This snack bar has two options: one for state powers(peanits) and one for national powers(cotton candy), buy both and watch them work together in a “compound government". Real example- both the state and federal governments can tax or make laws about education

federalism keeps the powers of each snack balanced so one level doesn’t dominate and sell oit faster than the other.
