Sometimes vowels can make the schwa sound in different parts of words
Why itโs interesting: The schwa sound is fun to learn because it helps us understand so many words we use every day! For example: the word BANANA has schwa sounds - buh-NAN-uh ๐ or FAMILY becomes FAM-uh-lee ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ. When we say LEMON it sounds like LEM-uhn ๐ or ABOUT becomes uh-BOUT ๐ญ. The word TAKEN sounds like TAY-kuhn โ or PENCIL becomes PEN-suhl โ๏ธ. Fun Fact: The schwa sound always sounds like "uh" but can be spelled with any vowel letter! ๐ก It's like having a sneaky sound that hides in different vowels! โจ๐

Possessive pronouns are words that show ownership or that something belongs to someone! They replace nouns and tell us "whose" something is. Examples: ๐ฏ Instead of saying: "That is Sarah's book" ๐ We can say: "That book is hers" โจ Instead of saying: "This is my dog's toy" ๐ We can say: "This toy is his" ๐พ Common Possessive Pronouns: ๐ mine ๐โโ๏ธ (belongs to me) yours ๐โโ๏ธ (belongs to you) his ๐ฆ (belongs to him) hers ๐ง (belongs to her) ours ๐ฅ (belongs to us) theirs ๐ซ (belongs to them) Quick Tip: ๐ก Possessive pronouns never need an apostrophe! They already show ownership all by themselves! ๐ซ's Example from our story: "Pixie's favorite grapes" could become "Those grapes are hers!" ๐
