SHANTI MANTRA OM SAHANA VAVATU
Breathe & check in: how was today?
"Tasmin satisvasa prasvasayoh gativicchedah pranayamah. Bahya abhyantra stambha vrttih desa kala samkhyabhih paridrstah dirgha suksmah. Bahya abhyantra visaya aksepi caturthah. Tatah ksiyate prakasa avaranam. Dharanasu ca yogyata mansah. " (II, Sutra 49-53)
Pranayama
Yogic breath control. Life force extension.
Awareness and control of the breath using observation as well as breathing techniques to gain deeper awareness of self, manage bodily sensation (including and especially pain/discomfort and temperature), rejunvenate the body and sesnes (reduction of stress, blood pressure, respiratory strain), and extend life.
" Pranayama is the regulation of the incoming and outgoing flow of breath with retention. It is to be practiced only after perfection in asana is achieved. Pranayama has three movements: prolonged and fine inhalation, exhalation and retention; all regulated with precision according to duration and place. The fourth type of pranayama transcends the external and internal pranayamas and appears effortless and non-deliberate. Pranyama removes the veil covering the light of knowledge and heralds the dawn of wisdom. Then the mind becomes fit for concentration." (II, Sutra 49-53)
