A major or minor in Modern Languages equips you with key skills and knowledge for a globalized, dynamic world.
It can combine well with a career in health care!
While learning another language is a challenge and requires time and dedication, it is also very rewarding and has the potential to enrich and expand your personal and academic objectives.
A Modern Language major consists of 30 hours at the elementary II level (Span 1602) or above.
We see you are already a major?
We can show you how to complete the major in ML.
You are well on your way to completing two degrees
We will show you how to complete an ML minor and also how to pursue a double major/dual degree (BA + BS).
The first class to count in the major / minor is Span 1602 (Elementary Spanish II).
Only 7 more classes for the major.
So, you are well on your way!
What do you have credit for already?
Since you are a SOPHOMORE, your current graduation date would likely be SPRING 2028. We'll show you a sample major plan.
Here's a sample schedule

Take one Spanish class each semester through fall 2026. Participate in the Spain study tour in summer 2026. Then take two Spanish courses in spring 27 until the spring of 2028. If you don't participate in the Spain study tour, take two courses in the fall of 27 or the spring of 28.
The Spain study tour is optional. If you do not participate, you can finish by adding one course to your major / minor plan.
