In July 1969, the Apollo 11 mission sent three US astronauts to the Moon in the Saturn V rocket.
Their names were:
Neil Armstrong
Edwin Aldrin (his nickname was "Buzz")
Michael Collins
The goal was to have the crew land on the Moon and then return home.

He remained in the command module, orbiting the Moon, until it was time to reconnect with Neil and Buzz and bring all three astronauts back to Earth. Neil and Buzz spent over 21 hours on the Moon.
